Elsa, You do not know me but I have been following your blog for about four months now. My 25 year-old son was diagnosed with a high grade undifferentiated sarcoma that began growing in his stomach about 8 months ago. He has already had one surgery, 6 rounds of chemo, and faces a very big surgery in the coming weeks. Half of his liver, part of his pancreas, and gallbladder will be removed. And then it is four more rounds of chemo. Needless to say I have had many worries and many tears. I was so happy to have discovered your blog. The beautiful pictures of your garden, your family, and the bits of info you post about what you are up to cheer me up and give me hope that one day my son will be able to move on from this terrible illness. I’m so sorry that you have had to deal with this disease, but please know that your blog has made a difference in my life – it truly gives me strength. I pray for you and your family, and I hope that the recovery from your surgery is quick so you can get back to your beautiful garden or go on that vacation you have talked about. Jody Los Angels, CA

March 2008 (confession: I love shaving my head. It makes me feel in control. What I hate is hair thinning. They should add hair "fertilizer" to our designed drugs)
Summer 2008 (in this video I was having fun with one of my scans, the music is by Brazilians, Seu Jorge and Ana Carolina).

1I needed a "garage" for my cancer stuff. I forget easily and sometimes I want to remember.
2For my friends. Aware of how they worry about me and of how terrible I am when it comes to staying in touch, I want them to know that I still feel them lifting me up.
3In case a net-surfer with a sarcoma, particularly a retroperitoneal liposarcoma, finds me, I hope that he/she doesn't feel so alone. And knows that, no matter what, everything will be alright.
4 And if you just happen to stumble upon this blog, feel Welcome.
Ring the bells that still can ring, Forget your perfect offering, There's a crack in everything, That's how the light gets in.
Toca os sinos que ainda podem, esquece a dádiva perfeita, existe uma brecha em tudo, é assim que a luz penetra.
